Like any other skill, MC-ing takes practice. Nobody is born an MC. There are, however, a good handful of folks who just seem to have a gift... like they were destined to do it. The kind that just seem so effortless on the mic, it becomes apparent that the bulk of what you're hearing is due to raw, natural talent, plain and simple. Reggie Reg, to me, is one of those. His 1995 release is one my favorite 12"s of all time. Sure, you've probably heard the 6 Million MC's bassline before (Gasface), not to mention the sample in the hook. And yes, the follow-up wasn't nearly as strong. But hey, the guy can flat-out rap. That's what really matters here.

One of my favorites too from mid 90's. I like both singles equally though. I wish they released more music.

the slum brothers have been making underground classics since 1988. they had a cut called " play dis" and another 12" called because im a pro (ft. kool joe) produced by reggie reg aka dj 2nice aka boss nigga!! also an 1 album on universal and suicide records 1990.
people seem to remember the slum brothers for the 12" sure shot" but they had about 6 singles and 1 album called jus regular niggers(fire) awsome possibly the best underground hip hop work ever recorded. the slum brothers are about 7 mc's deep, the original wu-tang clan. in 1999 REGGE REG finished his solo album to be released in 2001 and kool joe and the rest would soon follow, but his best friend and childhood buddy KOOL JOE passed away! REG, went into deep depression with about 4 albums ready to be released, but he quit the game in 2002. this guy would have changed the hip hop world he had the ear for music and its rumored a new album in 2009 and the release of the unheard classics with REGGIE REG and KOOL JOE, DON Q and the whole slum brothers gang, i know so much because Reggie Reg is my cousin.
Im a big fan of the slum brothers and if Reggie Reg and Don Q drop a new album, do you know where i can get two copies. also where can i get two copies of the "jus regular niggers" album.
ebay or fatbeats.
