"Your Favorite Crews That's Lost..."

The Nonce
-Who Falls Apart

1995 Wild West/American Recordings

True, the homies at Broke B-Boys came with a spot-on post about The Nonce recently, but if I could change one thing about it, I'd add this song.

Originally availabe only as a b-side of the Bus Stops single on Rick Rubin's American Records label, the track was reworked and included on a subsequent Nonce release, but sans the magic that it originally brought (if you ask me).

If I could anything to this..... I miss their production style. They got to dabble with alot of different boom bap elements... I liked how they did alot of the cuts/skratches... They werent always spot on, but it gave it a rather unique sound.

Word... they were slept on in so many ways. What I probably like best about them is that they're not putting on some act or taking on a false persona for their music, they just seem like a couple of guys having fun and doing it for the love. Too bad we won't have more to enjoy.

I wonder what the unreleased stuff is..... well find out really soon... I just grabbed a copy of Mixtapes. It's a Wild West promo that looks hand scribbled.

First time I heard The Nonce was 'Mixtapes' on the original Project Blowed comp. I seem to recall that like the original 'All Balls' it was cut when they pressed it to double wax but I'd have to get out my copy to check, not 100% on that.
